St. Petersburg Country Club is a private, member-owned country club offering a beautiful setting for families and businesses planning large celebrations, intimate gatherings, and memorable events. The club’s remarkable history dates back to 1924, when Charles Hall developed the Lakewood Estates neighborhood and enlisted golf course architect Herbert Strong to design a course that would complement the area’s picturesque terrain while providing a recreational facility for residents. Over time, the clubhouse became a central gathering place for members and a destination for numerous PGA legends who have walked these grounds.
Nearly 100 years after its development, St. Petersburg Country Club continues to provide a welcoming venue that reflects the same warmth and hospitality enjoyed by its earliest members. With its comfortable home-away-from-home atmosphere and signature friendly service, the club remains a special place for creating lasting memories.
Our event facilities can comfortably accommodate celebrations both large and small, with space for up to 160 guests to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the clubhouse and golf course. Exchange vows on the club lawn, celebrate a new beginning on our outdoor patio overlooking the course, or dance the night away in our spacious ballroom, customized to create the perfect setting for your event.

Fabulous Fitness Facilities
Our fitness center provides members with a well-equipped and inviting space to support an active and healthy lifestyle. Open seven days a week with secure key access, the facility allows for convenient use throughout the week. The gym includes 18 pieces of equipment such as treadmills, elliptical trainers, a rowing machine, free weights, and strength training options, all set within a bright space overlooking the golf course and pool area. Private training is also available for members seeking personalized instruction and support.
In addition to the fitness center, members enjoy access to recently updated locker room facilities designed for comfort and ease. The men’s locker room features modern lockers, a relaxed lounge area, upgraded showers, and space designated for golf shoe cleaning and maintenance. The women’s locker room offers a spacious and refreshed environment with updated changing areas and showers, providing a comfortable and convenient space before or after time at the club.

SPCC boasts a Junior Olympic Sized Swimming Pool with a shallow end great for young children to play in and 10 ft. deep end with dive blocks used by the club’s competitive swim team The Storm. Lap lanes are always open for lap swimming or triathlon practice. The pool is open year-round.

Our club is first and foremost a family friendly environment, with programs and events designed to bring members of all ages together throughout the year. A full calendar of seasonal celebrations and social gatherings creates meaningful opportunities for families to connect, relax, and enjoy time at the club. Signature traditions such as our poolside summer barbecues, annual Easter Egg Hunt, and Santa Brunch have become highlights of the year, offering memorable experiences for both children and adults in a welcoming and festive setting.
In addition to these events, the club offers a robust lineup of junior programming designed to support skill development and active lifestyles. During the summer months, junior sports camps include golf, racquet sports, and swimming, with approximately eight weeks of instruction led by experienced teaching professionals. Our swim program includes both home and travel meets through our affiliation with the Private Club League, a distinction shared by only one private club in St. Petersburg, reflecting a long-standing tradition of competitive excellence and participation.
When the school year begins, junior programming continues with after school golf and tennis offered from September through April, along with seasonal session options and holiday camps to accommodate family schedules. These programs are designed to provide consistent instruction, engagement, and enjoyment year round, helping young members develop skills while being part of a vibrant and active club community.
